I’m writing this because I’m really worried and feel like I have to speak up as a Christian who believes in doing what’s right in God’s eyes. I’m a relative to one of the students at the Institute for GOD in Nashville, and I’ve been hearing all this straight from them and some of their close friends there. They’ve been sharing details with me because they’re scared and don’t know who else to trust, and it’s breaking my heart. But the students are afraid to share this because that community always talks bad about and shuns people who uncover things like this.

In the last couple months it has been reported multiple times by students to the school that Professor Nate Cameron has been in this secret, inappropriate sexual affair with [other party’s name] who just got married and was [other party’s maiden name] who just graduated and now even works with him at the school.

This has been going on for a few years, including back when she was still a student under him. It’s so wrong, especially in a place that’s supposed to be all about following Jesus and living pure lives. Multiple students have actually found proof of it, like messages or whatever and they’ve tried to report it to the higher ups, hoping someone would step in and protect everyone.

The two of them have even gone on “work trips” and stayed in hotels alone together.

But the big problem is the leadership isn’t doing anything good about it.

Professor Laurie Kagay and President Jeff Sherrod are straight up denying it and trying to cover it all up.

My relative says they’ve been brushing it off or making excuses, and even threatening students by saying “I hope you know the biblical consequences of lying!”.

It seems like they’re way more worried about the school’s reputation and looking perfect on the outside than actually caring for the students’ safety and hearts. How can a Bible college act like that? We’re supposed to be a light in the world, not hiding sin!

I’m praying about this a lot, but I feel like God wants us to expose stuff like this so healing can happen. Please look into it. Those students deserve better, and I don’t want anyone else getting hurt. Thanks for listening, and God bless.
