Mid State Sports has nearly 30,000 participants annually and is Tennessee’s largest state based recreation sports organization.

Mid State Sports was founded by owner Ty Mathews in 2011 in an effort to provide physical fitness and social opportunity for youth and adults in the greater Nashville area. Since that time, we have grown to facilitiate over 250 leagues per year for nearly 5,000 teams in 6 different sports while managing 5 parks and playing in over 30 facilities.

Our adult program, Mid State Sports Leagues (MSSL), has captivated Nashville and surrounding areas by providing leagues that play at quality facilities, are organized, and have trained officials. It is one of the largest leagues in the Southeastern United States and continues to grow at an over 20% annual rate.

Our youth program, Mid State Youth Sports (MSYS), averages more teams than any youth basketball tournament series in the state. Nearly 2,000 teams play in 12+ tournaments annually and teams greatly appreciate the communication, officials, and facilities they participate in. MSYS also hosts youth soccer leagues in the spring and fall that with over 1,000 kids annually and a youth basketball league with over 1,000 kids. MSYS seeks to provide kids of all income levels opportunities to play in well facilitated leagues and is accomplishing that mission by providing scholarships for over 50% of league participants.
